Dynamic Series in MAPEH Gr. 1-6

The Dynamic Series in MAPEH elementary series adopts the principles embodied in the Department of Education’s prescribed K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum that focuses on the learner as a recipient of the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for artistic expression and cultural literacy. Lessons and activities in eacn book are student-centered and are based on a spiral progression of processes, concepts, a skills and grounded in performance-based learning. The books, particularly Music and Art, are designed to ensure effective learning through active participation and performance, creative expression, aesthetic valuation, critical response, and interpretation. The skills that the books aim to develop include reading/analyzing, listening/observing, performing, responding, composing, and creating.

Lessons and activities in Physical Education (PE) support the “Move to learn” principle as the context of physical activity which is viewed as the means for learning, and the “Learn to move” principle that embodies the learning of skills and techniques and the acquisition of understanding that are requisites to participation in a variety of physical activities that include exercise, games, sports, dance, and recreation. The PE books fully implement the concept that fitness and movement education is the core of the K to 12 PE Curriculum.

Finally, lessons and activities in Health focus on the physical, mental, emotional as well as the social, moral, and spiritual dimensions of holistic health. They teach the learners to acquire essential knowledge, attitudes, and skills that are necessary to promote good nutrition, to prevent and control diseases, to prevent substance abuse, to reduce health-related risk behaviors, and to prevent and control injuries with the end-view of maintaining and improving personal, family, community, as well as global health. Whenever possible, develop mentally appropriate, learner-centered teaching approaches are used to teach the lessons in Health Education.
